Fiddling Fun and Jazzy Jammin Both fiddling and jazz styles enhance the musical development of any string player within a motivating context. Fiddlin Fun will boost your musical confidence and performance skills through a journey into an alternative performance style, through Celtic and American Fiddle Tunes. In Jazzy Jammin you will learn cool jazz rhythms, bowings, swing and bebop style, syncopation and different scales.Open to violin, viola, cello and stringed bass. Taught by Dr. Melinda Rubin. Please register by May 10, 2016 On June 17th, at the last class, parents are welcome to celebrate in the students accomplishments. Requirements: Students must have completed at least 2 years of study on their instrument and be competent in notereading so they can fully enjoy the class experience. Snorkeling Camp - LCMM Campus: Vergennes/Basin Harbor
Ever look into the water and wonder what lies beneath? This is your chance to explore Lake Champlain up close and personal using mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and more. Diving professionals will introduce students to the equipment and techniques to become a confident snorkeler. Well put our skills to use checking out cool plants and animals. Tennis Champions Camp will mix areas such as stroke technique, shot selection, and court awareness with actual play. Players will receive focused instruction in various areas of tennis, allowing them to develop and improve their overall tennis game. Please select a minimum of one week. The class, which meets 3 days a week, will have a distinct goal for each day: Long Sail Day - try to sail as far as possible from the club using wind direction, current/tide forecast, and navigational aides. During the following class the student will chart their course on a chart in the Sail Room with pins and yarn, and we can compare progress week to week. Star Chart Day - Students identify skills from the star chart they want to achieve (Anchoring, knots, upwind sailing, etc), and finally Catamaran Day! Students may take this course for a maximum of 4 weeks, and class may not be held if less than 2 children are signed up. The goal of Adventure Sailing is to accumulate the skills for the student to check out a Rhodes 19 on their own. (Note: Adventure Sailing will not be held during Race Week.) 508-228-1400
