A number of online databases will help you locate and choose a camp for your kids. CampsUSA.org website lists over two thousand programs across the country. Go to http://www.campsusa.org/summer-camps/ to search by location (city, state or zip code) and type (day, overnight, specialty) or use advance search feature: http://www.campsusa.org/advanced-search/ to find camps by name and other criteria.
If an Internet search is not uncovering satisfactory options, try calling, emailing, or visiting in person local schools, churches, community centers, gyms, non-profits, libraries, and other locations where you can find and share community news. The town newspaper and neighborhood bulletin board might showcase area camps as well.
Of course, word of mouth remains the tried-and-true method of discovering great programs. Ask the other parents at the next PTA meeting, dance class, or football practice if they have any recommendations.
